GetResponse Landing Page Alternative for Lead Magnets
GetResponse can host a lead magnet page well, and if you already send your email from it, its landing page builder and lead magnet funnels are worth trying before you look elsewhere. A dedicated lead magnet page tool makes more sense when you want the page itself to be the product: written for your trade, quick to publish, priced without reference to your contact list and independent of whichever email platform you use. This post sets out what GetResponse offers today, where a dedicated page differs and how to move a page across if you decide to.
Can GetResponse host a lead magnet page?
Yes. GetResponse is an email marketing platform with a landing page builder included on every paid plan. Its landing page creator page describes more than 200 templates, embedded signup forms, exit intent popups, an AI wizard that drafts page designs from your answers and the option to use your own domain. Signups go straight into your GetResponse list and automations.
It also has a specific lead magnet funnel, which bundles a signup page, a download page and a series of follow-up emails. According to GetResponse's help article on lead magnet funnels, new contacts receive an email with a unique download link after subscribing, and files can be up to 50 MB.
What GetResponse does well
GetResponse is a strong choice when email is the centre of your marketing. Having the page, the list and the follow-up emails in one account means a new signup can start a welcome series immediately, with no connection to set up. If you plan to run a sequence of nurture emails after every download, that tight link is a real advantage.
The breadth is another strength. Depending on the plan, the same account can run automations, webinars, a website builder and courses, as listed on GetResponse's pricing page. For a business that wants one platform for most of its marketing, that is convenient.
The lead magnet funnel is also well thought out. It treats the resource, the page and the emails as one project, which is exactly how a lead magnet should be planned.
GetResponse pricing at the time of writing
At the time of writing (October 2026), GetResponse's pricing page lists the Starter plan at $19 a month on monthly billing for a list of 1,000 contacts, or $15.58 a month paid annually. Marketer is $59 a month and Creator is $69 a month on monthly billing at the same list size, with Enterprise on custom pricing. All three paid plans include the landing page builder. Prices rise with the size of your contact list, and there is a 14 day free trial.
The pricing page also says you can keep using a free account with limitations after the trial, and the free account's landing pages are capped at 1,000 unique visitors a month.
Where a dedicated lead magnet page differs
A dedicated lead magnet page tool like Gatedleads does a narrower job. It does not send newsletters or run automations. What it does is build one kind of page, the page that offers a resource and collects an email for it, and it does that with less setup.
Starting points written for your trade. Gatedleads has 500+ templates organised by niche and by format, such as a buyer's guide for accountants or a roadmap for estate agents, each with sample copy in that trade's language. GetResponse's templates are designed around layouts and campaign types, which is flexible but leaves the writing to you.
Pricing that does not follow your list. Gatedleads Pro is $29 a month, and the price does not change as your list grows. The Free plan includes one page. Email platforms price by contacts, which is fair for sending, but it means the cost of your lead capture rises with the success of your lead magnet.
Independence from your email tool. Because the page and your leads live in Gatedleads, you can change email platform later without rebuilding your lead magnet pages. Leads can be exported as a CSV at any time, and on Pro, Zapier can send each new lead to GetResponse or any other tool.
Simple source tracking. Each lead records where it came from, including UTM tags, so you can see which post or channel is working without opening a separate analytics tool.
Neither approach is better in every case. The real question is where you want your lead magnet page to sit: inside your email platform or alongside it.
Who should stay with GetResponse
Stay with GetResponse if you already use it for email and the landing page builder does what you need. If your lead magnet is the start of an automated email sequence you have already built there, keeping the page in the same account is the simplest setup and avoids an extra tool.
GetResponse also suits businesses that want webinars, courses or a website in the same platform, since a dedicated page tool will not replace those.
Who might prefer a dedicated page
A dedicated page tool tends to suit people who:
- run several lead magnets and want each one on a page written for its audience;
- want to publish a new page quickly from a template in their trade's language;
- use, or might later use, a different email platform from GetResponse;
- would rather keep lead capture on a fixed price than one tied to contact count.
If any of these apply, it is reasonable to keep GetResponse for email and use a separate page for the lead magnet itself. That is the same arrangement many people use with other email tools, as covered in our Mailchimp landing page alternative post.
How to move a lead magnet page across
Moving one page is a short job.
- Pick a Gatedleads template in the same format as your current lead magnet, such as a checklist or guide, and replace the sample copy with your own.
- Upload the file you currently deliver from GetResponse, so it is sent automatically when someone signs up. Instant lead magnet delivery explains why getting the file to people straight away matters.
- Publish the page and test it with your own email address.
- Connect it to GetResponse. On Pro, set up a Zapier connection so each new lead is added to your GetResponse list and enters your existing welcome automation. Our lead magnet Zapier integration guide walks through the steps. On the Free plan, export leads as a CSV and import them into GetResponse.
- Update the links in your social posts, emails and website to point to the new page.
If you would rather not use Zapier, sending leads to a CRM or email tool without Zapier covers the webhook route.
Getting started
A page built from a template can be live in under 10 minutes, and the Free plan includes one page, so you can try a single lead magnet before changing anything else. Create your first lead magnet page free and keep GetResponse sending the emails.
